Battle of The Dragons: Chapter 2
Chapter 2: Dragon Encounter
We screamed as we swirled around and around. Scarlett clutched me for life as we were falling from the sky. I hugged The Lost Mysteries so I wouldn’t lose it. I fell flat on my back on the hard ground. Scarlett landed in a soft patch of grass.
“Owww!”I groaned. All the air was blown out of me when I hit the ground. I laid still so the pain would slowly flow out of me. Scarlett stood up and looked for me. I was over a small slope in the hills.
“Hey, where’s Chase?’’ Scarlett asked herself.
“What happened? Are you OK?” Exploded Scarlett from a bit aways. I was already standing up and looking for her myself. She was standing next to me in no time flat. There was a crack.
“Ouch!” I yelled. My nose was hurting like heck! Blood was gushing out of it. “How did that happen?”
“I have no idea.” Said Scarlett. “What the — ?” It looked like she was smacked across the face.
“What the heck happening?” I asked again. Scarlett gazed around the trees. She saw a huge figure make it’s way towards us.
“We have to go.” Said Scarlett still staring.
“Why?”
“Just run!”
The creature stalked out of the forest. It roared, and looked for its appetizer. The beast was as big as a ferris wheel. It had horns and it’s skin was light red with orange blotches. It’s mouth looked like it just ate. It also had a large circular satellite around its neck, which looked like it had a special… something.
“Quick, under here!” Said Scarlett. Crouched under a bunch of overgrowth; we breathed heavily.
“Let’s look in the Lost Mysteries to find what kind of dragon it is. And try not to get blood on it.” I opened the book to the table of contents.
“Which one is it?” Hissed Scarlett.
“No idea. Just look!” I hissed back. She flipped through the book franticly. Scarlett stopped on page 20.
“Here it is. It’s called Doomscyth. With its psychic powers, it can do things to you and control you. It can’t read minds but, can harm. Can’t do it from far away, but can sense you. So that’s what happened earlier.” Said Scarlett. What a way to break the news.

We heard the Doomscyth stomping around outside our hiding space. A few minutes later, the Doomscyth was gone. Scarlett and I piled out of the cramped space while cautiously looking around.
“Whew, I think It’s gone.” I sighed.
“Don’t say that!” Said Scarlett. “When people say that in movies, it comes back!”
“Uh-oh.” I say. Why do I always say stupid things? All of a sudden, an old man walked through the bushes.
He was wearing a long robe. As well as a walking stick in his right hand and a compass in his left. His shoulder-long, graying hair was braided loosely down his neck. He was also wearing thick lens-glasses.
“Oh, hello there.’’ Asked the peculiar old man.
“Who are you?” I say. Scarlett looks taken aback.
“Excuse my manners! I am Max, the director of DTA, the Dragon Training Acadamy. Care to join me?” Replied Max.
“Sure. I’m Scarlett and this is Chase. Do you know what a Doomscyth is?” Asked Scarlett.
“Oh, those dreadful dragons. There’s only a few left though. Their psychic powers are cool. Follow me, my friends and we can enjoy a hot drink together.”
Everyone walked a short way until we all walked under a big archway.
“This is DTA!” Exclaimed Max. “Oh, and the medical center is over that way, my boy. Follow me.” With Max leading the way, we all headed over towards the center.
“Hello Betty! Howard! We have some visitors!”
Two heads peeked out a window. One head had a truck load of hair and the other one was wavy, brown and short.
“Max, your home!” They both exclaimed excitedly. Betty and Howard came rushing out the front door of the medical center, and wrapped themselves around Max.
“Who are these lovely youngin’s?”Howard asked.
“I’m Chase. And this is Scarlett. I say. Betty took one glance at me. Her look of happiness, changed into one of motherly concern.
“You poor child! Come with me, and we can get you fixed up.” Said Betty. She lead me into the house with an arm around my shoulders.
“I hope he feels better soon.” Said Scarlett sympathetically.
“So. What brings you here to this side of the country.” Asks Max.
“Oh, we’re from the regular world. You know, the other dimension?” Replied Scarlett. Max gasped and stepped backward.
“Your…your from the other dimension? Are you the one who made the Clash?” Asked Max.
“Oh, no. We came here from the other dimension for a safe haven from the Clash. We have the book of Lost Mysteries.”
“That means you and Chase are the ones of the prophecy that the villagers are talking about!” Said Max loudly.
“Whatever. Show me around, I’d love to see more of the town.” Said Scarlett.
“Ok,” Said Max dropping the subject.
