I am writing this blog post on behalf of mine (Zulqarnain) and my passionate team members (Hashir, Mishi, Rabbiya, Kiran, and Iqra from batch #32).

After Edhi Sb’s passing, the financing to Edhi Foundation has been diminished, mostly since the most recent couple of months. So Amal Academy made a stride and gave us a chance to step up with regards to raising support and offering attention to the ordinary individuals about the decrease in the Edhi Foundation. We, as a gathering chose a few areas, i.e., Educational Institutes, Hospital, Gardens, and Malls in Lahore for raising support.

“It was challenging to say Thank you and give a smile to everyone even to those who were laughing at us, but we did it”

“It was challenging to say Thank you and give a smile to everyone even to those who were laughing at us, but we did it”

A hand which gives is constantly superior to anything a hand which takes. To make the Edhi sahib message and his battle alive to help poor people and penniless individuals we merely attempted. We have sought to add to this noble purpose.

We did it to the best we could. When we started we were getting no responses as such we anticipated. There was a fear of failure in our minds. There was a sense of guilt on what if we fail? But to overcome all these fears we just keep one thing in mind, we will try till last second, and till the last person, we meet irrespective of the result.

It was a great learning experience for us, as we came across people from different backgrounds and observed their thinking style and their reactions. We came to know that individuals who are poorer and have known what it’s like not to have necessities and also people who are closest to their roots, culture, beliefs, and religion donated more than the others and contributed wholeheartedly.

Also, People with a typical mindset tried hard to make us feel frightened and snub, but we just keep on moving with a slow but consistent pace. I learned from this activity that people of Pakistan are enthusiastic and helping. They go beyond their limits. We saw labor class contributing more and more with an open heart and with a smile on their faces.

We went the extra mile by dividing our fund raising into 3 phases. 1st accumulate individually as much as possible, 2nd was to do a test run at Lawrence Garden, where the response was excellent despite the fact that we went in the afternoon on a weekday, 3rd was to spend a whole day at Emporium Mall and Alfateh-Gulberg to collect the funds there.

It wasn’t as difficult as we have done this type of many activities before, By Practicing in Amsl Academy and the quick decision making between the team helped a lot.

Kiran's Experience

I have a wonderful experience in collecting the donations from different kinds of people. To do this activity I went to my street, collecting the money by knocking each of the house door, by facing different types of people. Some of the people was not interested in giving the money, some people gave me little amount of money and some of them gave about my expectations.

By facing different perceptions from the people, I didn’t feel myself disappointed. I was still firm on my goals and collected the donations by the people. On the next day I collected some money from my family members and I was much happy that I did something for the poor and needy people.

Mishi's Experience

It’s very easy to plan a thing, but the implementation of that plan is the actual I guess extra mile face the hardships and challenges to achieve the task. I want to share my experience how I focus on my goal despite of criticism our group decided to help the poor and needy people by collecting donation and give that to Edhi Foundation. We divided our group into 3 subgroup 1 group collected donation from public places one group was responsible to collect donation from the educational institution and the last group assigned to collect donation from community family friends and neighborhood. As I collected donation from educational institute I am hostile, so decided to go every single room and make a request to the students for donating When I started my task I am very nervous because I never do that type of social work before and I did not face that type of environment before. ALHAMDULILLAH my experience was very great because I did my best and I received a donation from every single person, no matter how much it was but I was very happy that I can possibly and gain their attention. I went room to room and at the end, I was collected almost 2000 donation from 90 students.

Towards the end, we might want to include that at whatever point you go for a noble purpose there will be plenty of obstacles in your way yet you simply need to keep confidence in ALLAH. HE will enable you to out without a doubt, at whatever point you go for such reason ALLAH is dependably there to help you. You only need to remain engaged and brave.
