On Teacher’s day

There’s something wrong
if you haven’t outgrown
your teachers.

They have not served you well,
not taught you to learn,
not taught you everything
they know.

There’s something wrong
if you haven’t outgrown
your school.

If those were your best
years of learning,
you clearly have stopped
or never
learned how to learn.

for what else is there in life
other than to ask questions
and get answers.

There’s something wrong
if you haven’t fought with your teachers.
without differences
the equation is complete,
but we do not live in harmony,
and that’s okay too-
but there’s something wrong
if you haven’t taught your teacher.

There’s something wrong
if you have fixed these roles to people,
like people these tags too change.
so make friends with your students..
err..I mean teachers…

and ask them a difficult one.

// this is not a hate poem.
I have had the fortune to learn from and teach
my teachers. Fight and make up. Really connect.
Yet, authoritative teachers and I have seldom got along,
they do somehow manage to have a fan following though.
My teachers have tried to control me and teach me a subject,
then there have been those that have had conversations and
got me involved in concepts. I prefer the latter. //
