Why are you making assumptions that the counter-protesters don’t have the same ideas about “family” and “faith” and “folk”? I can understand the antipathy toward outsiders coming in to fight what the community members feel are their battles to fight, but that doesn’t mean that those outsiders don’t hold the same values that your community does.
