MultiDAO Multicast Vol. 0
To the Hoge Finance Community,
I am deeply grateful for your ongoing patience, trust, and support. I recognize that our journey towards realizing the potential of MultiDAO has been longer than we all expected and hoped for, and for that, I apologize. The journey we’ve embarked on with MultiDAO is not an easy one. It’s been longer and tougher than any of us could have ever imagined.
MultiDAO isn’t just about software; it’s an expression of our shared vision, a testament to the spirit of the Hoge Finance community. We’re a band of passionate volunteers, spontaneously cooperating with complete strangers from across the globe, all putting our hearts into creating something that we believe will make a historic impact on the web3 and crypto world. This unifying purpose has been my overriding motivation. Yet, at the same time, the magnitude of this task, the enormity of what we’ve set out to do, has sometimes felt daunting and overwhelming.
MultiDAO isn’t intended to be another shallow use case amidst the sea of blockchain applications. Instead, it’s a tool crafted to support the many facets and expressions of decentralized communities — a reflection of the varied and individualized values that drive web3 and HOGE as a whole. It’s designed as a tool for us, and for communities far and wide, whether like us or not. It’s a way for everyone to have a say in shaping their own vision of governance, community, and economy. This belief has always been my driving force, and it continues to be the heart and soul of this project.
Yet, I realize that this journey has not been smooth. We’ve made ambitious promises, but fulfilling them has been a more arduous task than we ever expected. Last year, I lost several people who were very dear to me. Their loss has shaken me to my core. Their absence still sits with me very heavily. I want to apologize for the moments when I was not as present or as effective as you all deserved. Please know that every day, I’m pushing through the fog and trying my best to be there for this community, and for this project, that mean so much to me
We’ve weathered fractures within our community, and witnessing them has been painful. Our journey, like many, has been marked with shifts in leadership and unfulfilled promises. This history, paired with my own optimistic yet unmet timelines for MultiDAO, might have left some of you feeling skeptical or even betrayed. I see this, I hear it, and I feel it deeply. I understand that my words and our past might cast a long shadow of doubt. It’s a shadow I’m striving to step out of. Your trust is not something I take lightly, and I’m committed to regaining it.
Why am I saying all this? Because MultiDAO is more than a task or a project for me. It’s a reflection of what I believe in, a goal that I’m committed to achieving. We’re incredibly close to getting there. Yes, we still have work to do — the final integration of our rewritten smart contracts and new API with the revamped frontend UI. To our front-end developer, I owe a heartfelt apology. I’ve been procrastinating on a task that I’ve been dreading — not because of its complexity, but because it’s symbolic of a pattern that I didn’t want to fall into, becoming another name in the long list of ex-leadership. But I’m facing this now, with all the honesty and courage I can muster, acknowledging my fears, my vulnerabilities, and my commitment to change.
So here’s my commitment: I’ll continue working hard on MultiDAO, and I’ll start being more transparent with the community. From this point onward, I am committed to keeping you all in the loop with regular ‘MultiDAO Multicast’ updates every two weeks, and I will be available for one Friday Wrap-Up AMA per month, where I can address any questions, concerns, or feedback you may have.
As we continue this journey, I recognize the need for additional hands on deck. I am reaching out to you, our community, in hopes that among us is someone with experience in project management and a keen understanding of modern software development. We are also looking for someone with experience in DevOps workflows and tooling. I believe that my most valuable contributions lie in driving feature development and platform security, and having someone to take on project management and CI/CD activity would allow me to focus on these areas.
This is not an easy ask, but it’s one that I believe is necessary for MultiDAO to continue its growth and success. If this sounds like you or someone you know, I’d be grateful to hear from you.
This is a heartfelt request, not just for assistance, but for a partnership in taking our project to new heights. Just as I am dedicated to MultiDAO, I believe in our community’s ability to rise to this occasion. Together, I know we can write an exciting new chapter in the history of Hoge Finance, one where we transform our tragedies into triumphs and our shared vision into reality.
Okay, before we go any further, let’s take a step back.
We’re making history, yes. We’re challenging norms and transforming the game, sure. But let’s not forget — we’re doing this in a community built around a meme of a dog wearing sunglasses. Now, that’s something to chuckle about, isn’t it? Let’s think about it — here I am, feeling like a Nobel laureate drafting a breakthrough speech, when all we’re really talking about is a project built around a meme-dog-coin. There’s something both wonderfully absurd and humbling about that.
The reason we’re still here, years down this topsy-turvy path, isn’t just because we’re all smitten by a dog in shades. We’ve navigated through turbulent FUD, braved the lows, cheered for the highs, and even enjoyed the occasional sidesteps. But here’s the deal — despite everything, Hoge endures. The staying power is indisputable. This is not just about the buzz we create, it’s about the passion that binds us together.
So, here’s to us — the unreasonable thinkers who look at a dog with sunglasses and think, ‘Sure, let’s revolutionize web3 with that.’ As offbeat as it sounds, it’s a testament to the surprising places where the extraordinary can take root and flourish. It’s a reminder that innovation doesn’t always wear the mask we expect it to.
