Have you ever wondered who’s behind the inventions and discoveries that changed the world? Today, I’ll take you on a journey through the remarkable achievements of Polish scientists, who have proven with their work that the impossible doesn’t exist. So, I’m taking you on a journey to the first article in my series, “this place in the heart of Europe,” where I’ll give you a closer look at Poland.

If you’re curious about what other topics I write about, I refer you to this article

Let’s start our journey with Ignacy Łukasiewicz, our hero of lighting. The first oil refinery? Absolutely, and that was in 1856, my dear friends! Łukasiewicz not only brought light into our homes but did so in Bóbrka, a tiny locality near Krosno, which in turn is a charming city in southern Poland. Who would have thought that something as unassuming as crude oil could yield something so groundbreaking?

Next up, we have Napoleon Cybulski, an adrenaline enthusiast before it was trendy. In 1895, this gentleman discovered adrenaline, making us all better understand what happens to our body while watching the finals of championships. Yes, thanks to him, we know why our heart beats like crazy when we suddenly realize that tomorrow is the project deadline we forgot about.
