4 Ways to Make Prayer Work for You & Others
You may associate prayer with religion. Maybe that turns you off to praying or maybe it makes you pray more. Perhaps praying feels like work. Or you’ve simply stopped because you weren’t receiving answers.
First off, prayer does not have to be a religious act. Prayer is simply a way to project positive energy toward a person, place or outcome.
Our Universe is made up of energy. Everything, including ourselves and our thoughts and words, is energy. Prayer gives us the ability to impact and shift the energy that surrounds us and our loved ones.
Prayer not only can help you manifest hopes and desires, it also has been proven to improve your physical health.

Ultimately, praying is the act of asking and receiving. So, here are 4 ways to amp up your prayer practice:
1. Use Feelings & Desires
Many of us pray because we want something, either for ourselves or for someone else. There is absolutely nothing wrong with that! Though, how we word our requests is important.
Rather than focusing on the want, for instance, “Please get me this new job, I have to get this new job!” focus on the feeling, “Please open up the opportunity for me to feel achievement and success.”
Show trust that the Universe has got you and your desires covered by ending with, “If this new job will serve me for the highest power and the highest good, please show me the way to make it happen.”
Please [insert action verb] for me to feel [insert desire].
If this new [insert want] will serve me for the highest power and the highest good, please show me the way to make it happen.
2. Make it Fun
It’s awful to say it, but prayer can be a tedious task. You’ll develop this massive, memorized list of requests and names, and it starts becoming a time-consuming daily recital. This is great, until it’s no longer working for you… or your schedule.
Instead of going on a prayer marathon, try little sprints throughout the day. As someone crosses your mind, send out a quick prayer for them and then carry on as you were.
Metaphorically, think of it as a prayer tweet, except you’re posting it to the Universe instead. As the thought or desire comes to you, blast it out into the world in 140-characters or less. (And have fun with it!)
It can go something like, “Sending a shout out to my bestie whose heart has been hurting, please send love and happiness her way! #loveisintheair”
3. Believe Your Answer is Coming
We live in an on demand world and expect results to arrive on a silver plater in seconds. Although prayer can absolutely churn out results fast, sometimes it doesn’t seem to be “working.” This can lead to frustration and shutting down our belief in it completely.
But if you turn yourself off, you’ll never get an answer! Be patient and consistent. Remind yourself that the Universe works in mysterious ways. Sometimes the answer is being withheld for a reason. Trust in that reason, even if you don’t know exactly what it is yet.
Believe that the is best is coming for you. Stay in optimistic energy by saying, “It will be this or something better.” Also be aware that the answer may not be what you expected, because it arrived as something you needed.
Sometimes the answer is being withheld for a reason. Trust in that reason, even if you don’t know exactly what it is yet.
4. Listen Within & Take Action
Quite often we receive intuitive pokes and nudges, but rather than responding to them, we keep looking for a literal sign to pop up in front of us. The Universe isn’t always like FEDex just dropping materialized answers off on our doorsteps!
If a reoccurring thought keeps visiting you, listen to it and act. This action can lead you to your answer, or even be the answer itself.
Listening to intuitive messages can also help you be the answer to other’s prayers. For example, maybe you get a sudden inkling to pick up flowers for your spouse on your way home from work. You get home and upon seeing the flowers, your loved one bursts into tears exclaiming, “I had such a terrible day… it was so bad, I even said a crazy prayer for it to get better! You have no idea how much I needed these. Thank you.”
What if you hadn’t listened? These guiding thoughts are sent to you for YOU and for others. You absolutely can be the answer to someone else’s prayers! How cool is that?
You absolutely can be the answer to someone else’s prayers!
Keep in Mind
Prayer works when you ask and receive, so make sure once you’ve placed your order, you’re there to answer the door when the doorbell rings… literally and figuratively!
