My dear aunt’s celebration of life at the Tomichi Point (Many Rocks, Much Water) in the beautiful Black Canyon of the Gunnison in Colorado. Reminded me of the Japanese proverb: In the struggle between the stone and water, the water wins not through strength but by perseverance.

It wasn’t easy but she too won thru perseverance. Grateful to know that ther are more people welcoming her home than there are those bidding her adieu. Grateful to know she is now with her parents, her little brother, her son.

The experience reminded me of a verse from the Book of Mormon: Another Testament of Jesus Christ:

Alma 40: 11–12 Behold, it has been made known unto me by an angel, that the spirits of all men, as soon as they are departed from this mortal body, yea, the spirits of all men, whether they be good or evil, are taken home to that God who gave them life.

12 And then shall it come to pass, that the spirits of those who are righteous are received into a state of happiness, which is called paradise, a state of rest, a state of peace, where they shall rest from all their troubles and from all care, and sorrow.
