Farmers Markets are a place where food is not just capable of filling hunger but entertaining the mind as well, with creative and exciting ways to grow your culinary mind.

Heart of the City Farmers Market

Located throughout Civic Center, the Heart of the City Farmers Market stays true to its name. The market also does not deviate from its original intentions, remaining an independent, farmer-operated, non-profit food justice organization that has been around since the early 80s. They not only serve great food to the shoppers that join them every Sunday and Wednesday from 7 AM to 5 PM, but they also donate over $1 million dollars a year in food assistance to the San Francisco community! When coming to Heart of the City, you’re not only helping yourself by finding great deals but you’re also helping those that need it the most.

Fort Mason Center Farmers Market

Each Sunday, the old Fort Manson Center transforms into San Francisco’s most scenic market. Located in the Marina, this year round market operates on Sundays from 9:30 am to 1:30 PM and offers sweeping views of the Golden Gate and Alcatraz, as well as great proximity to Crissy Field for an afternoon walk! Better yet, this market has a great selection of warm foods, drinks, and live music to enjoy as you woke in the sun (or fog) on your next Sunday morning!

Ferry Plaza Farmers Market

Ferry Plaza Farmers Market is a San Francisco staple. It is currently operated by the nonprofit Center for Urban Education about Sustainable Agriculture; open every Tuesday and Thursday from 10 AM to 2 PM as well as Saturday from 8 AM to 2 PM. Ferry Plaza Farmers Market is able to bring everything to you in one convenient spot; throughout the market, there are various culinary educational programs! At this farmers market, all of the chefs and farmers are delighted to discuss the differences between their products — making sure to engage with all that stop by their stands. So come one come all! Beginner or expert, the Ferry Plaza Farmers Market is always a place to learn.
