Many of us had done some extraordinary funny deeds in their childhood which brought trouble for them and put them in a situation to rethink upon their childish action or decision.

Well, this movie is about an extraordinary deed of a little girl named Angela.

Getting inspired by the feeling of love and care for everyone, little Angela makes a decision which brings trouble for her and teaches her a very important life lesson.

The event took place in Limerick, Ireland in 1914 on Christmas Eve. The story starts with Angela’s visit to St. Joseph’s Church with his family, where she saw the baby Jesus for the first time.

The urge to keep baby Jesus warm in that cold night made little Angela take baby Jesus with her. This choice and urge put her into trouble and ended happily with the right thing to do.

This movie is based on a story book named ‘Angela and the baby Jesus’ written by Frank McCourt.

Breaking it all down

I’ll be completely honest…

Angela’s Christmas made me miss my childhood.

The story starts with the narrators’ voice narrating a story about the little girl Angela, who grew up to be his mother. The character introduction is short and smooth which makes them familiar very quickly.

The bond between the family member is beautifully portrayed throughout the movie, whether it is the fight between Angela and his brother Pat or the time when Pat tries to take all the blame on him to save her sister Angela, the love for the family melts down your heart.

A child’s mischievous mind and their determination to do the thing they want is described beautifully. As can be seen in the movie when Angela made an excuse to his mother, so that she can take baby Jesus with her. This the time when the narrator quotes

“Little ideas are the seeds of big trouble.” — Narrator

And the story continues further. The thoughts and feelings of a child are showcased perfectly. When Angela is on her way to home, she has lots of thoughts in her head and after meeting the police man she is afraid of getting caught. This scene will give you the excitement that she would be able to make her trip home or she will get caught.

The animation is really good and the lighting is just perfect so that movie looks brighter even if it is the night time.

The sequencing of the scene is really good and connects you with the movie throughout. The background music is perfect and seamless with all scenes. The music gives a feel of Christmas Eve and is very soothing.

The song “stay with me” sung by Angela in the movie when she tries to make baby Jesus sleep is really melodious and just stuck in your head. And this song is going to be the new lullaby for your children if you had one.
