‘Atomic Blonde’ Insider Movie Review
An atomic blonde spy that will deceive everyone in her most dangerous and clever way.
Atomic Blonde is a story of M16 espionage agent Lorraine Broughton played by Charlized Theron.
Lorraine was sent to Berlin in the late fall of 1989 to recover a list of double agents for the safety of the western intelligence officers. The film is written by Kurt Johnstad and it is based on the 2012 graphic novel Coldest City. A lot of critics associated the film with John Wick’s storyline.
David Leitch had flawlessly showcased his directing skills after he became an uncredited co-director and producer on the first part of John Wick film.
Though Atomic Blonde is an action movie by its nature, it is still easy going to watch. The soundtrack plays a vital part in the movie as it helps in creating an 80s vibe which is complementing the theme of the movie.
It has an excellent and appealing trailer that makes it more popular and viewers will be compelled to watch it.
Breaking it all down
I’ll be completely honest…
Charlize is a female version of John Wick. She looks insanely good for a 41-year-old woman when she is filming this.
The title suits her very well, a woman in blonde hair with an exploding strength like an atomic bomb. Indeed, she is the heart of this movie. She owns Lorraine’s character and I couldn’t imagine another actress playing the role aside from her. It’s great to see another action movie lead by a female.
Charlize executed the fight scenes gracefully proving that she is the right person for the role. It said that she performed most of her own stunts.
Atomic Blonde is an amazing execution of women empowerment. Her remarkable stunts feel like she is dancing with the movie’s soundtrack. She holds her character a bit mysterious. I could feel that there is something behind her personality that is alike to James Bond.

This is a film about trust, truth, and lies. Everyone is deceiving everyone else. It is difficult to determine who’s telling the truth and who’s not but towards the end of the movie, it will be revealed that Lorraine is the liar of them all. It has an emotional depth giving us a more complex ending.
Nonetheless, Atomic Blonde is a cool movie with an impressive action scene. The storyline and plot are surprising. The cinematography is commendable and the effects are fantastic. It’s as if the characters are really each other.
It’s a must-watch movie. Thanks to my friend who recommended this to me. I enjoyed it. I hope you watch it and think of me!

Atomic Blonde provided an exciting yet tragic journey through emotions. This movie didn’t just focus on style but it is also full of substance.
An area of improvement that could have made it better was if the movie had a better and smarter script. Though, I must agree with other critics that this movie is in between James Bond and John Wick but it has its own style that will make it different.
Great news for lovers of the first movie: Atomic Blonde 2 is in development with Netflix according to Charlized herself. Since she hasn’t revealed a lot about Lorraine’s character in the first movie, we can probably look forward to getting to know her more in Atomic Blonde 2.
As of writing, Charlized’s Old Guard movie is currently streaming and has received a lot of positive feedback from the audience. You might also want to consider watching it.
