The film opens with Roger, played by Lil’ Yachty, working the night shift at a fast food restaurant who comes across a couple of rich girls, whom he smokes weed with, only to be robbed by them.

Then we are introduced to his cousin Calvin, played by DC Young Fly, who was an Uber driver or something related to that. Does it really matter? It’s a stoner movie! Oh yeah…the two cousins live in Roger’s mother’s basement.

Then they come across “The Weed Bible,” which not only introduces them to some powerful and aesthetic weed, but also they encounter Baby Powder (Mike Epps) and his sidekick, played by Teresa Topnotch, and the ridiculous thing over here is that she is only credited as “Sidekick”.

Breaking it all down

I’ll be completely honest…

This sequel was not funny and not even entertaining. The characters are very forgettable, very few of the jokes are funny, there is no Redman and no Method Man (WTF?).

Redman and Method Man were amazing in the first movie, sure the first is not an amazing work of art, but it’s still funny and a classic.

Mike Epps in this movie was not funny, he needs to pick better movies, because this movie is definitely not for him. They are a few jokes that are a little funny, but that’s not enough to make the movie that much entertaining or amazing.

“Y’all GOTTA stop watching black movies, right? Cuz you’re F — –g up the culture!” — DC Young Fly

Mike Epps reprised his role as Baby Powder from the first film, but this time he wasn’t a pimp who was trying to get his girls back. This time he played a spiritual figure whom only Roger and Calvin see, almost like a spirit who gives them advice.

I really did not understand what they did with this character. Although the casting of the movie was a little messed up but there were times when I had a lot of laughs, some jokes were really good and made me forget the previous magic done by Method Man and Red Man.

It is a corny film but that is the fun of it. If you watch it without comparing it to the prequel you’ll sort of enjoy it.

Essential Movie Details

By the way… did you know?

  • Lil Yachty starred in this stoner comedy who is a famous rapper with a credible following
  • The film received great criticism for not giving roles to Red Man and Method Man who were a big success in the prequel of this film
  • The production had been started without letting the previous main leads (Red Man and Method Man) know about it
  • Unsurprisingly, the movie did not win any awards

In The End

This movie’s prequel “How High” had set the bar really high for this sequel to be really amazing and funny, as most of the viewers find it not so funny and not worth a watch. Lil Yachty who was apparently new in the rap game shows off his acting skills in this movie.

But for me, it was not worth a watch. It’s a no, dog.

DC Young Fly is hilarious at times which makes the movie a lot better. It is a really different film in terms of humor if compared with the prequel. There is no doubt that the movie could have been greatly improved if Method Man and Red Man were to act in it as it was decided.

The audience was misguided which caused a backlash for the producers and directors. My take on this is that it was a funny netflixable movie which provided a good time pass.
