4 Parties Making Their Return in Toronto — Hoods Guru
Eclectic Minds IX — The Rivoli — 334 Queen Street West
I checked out Eclectic Minds V in 2010 at the Rivoli, and the event was a blast. Still going strong, Eclectic Minds IX hits the Rivoli stage on College tonight for its 9th event in Toronto. With Toronto’s hottest up and coming reggae and hip-hop artists to be showcased, it’ll be a full house no doubt and you’ll be supporting local talent. Bring $10 for the entrance charge and expect nothing less than sick dance moves, awesome live artists and the consistently great atmosphere that Rivoli always rocks.
Dance Night 95 — ROUND Venue — 152a Augusta Avenue
Dance Night 95 encompasses everything we think about in the 90s in Toronto, from Electric Circus to the Much Music Speaker’s Corner. This is the party of all 90s parties in, so if you’re looking for things to do in Toronto, well, you might have found it. Dance Night 95 will kick-off at 9pm and end around 3am, with 6 DJs rocking every classic 90s hit you can think and every one you couldn’t. Expect house, electronic and Eurodance remixed classics that’ll match the style of your Adidas track suit and baggy whitewashed jeans. Did I mention they’ve brought back the Best of 90s outfit contest? It’s everything you could imagine, and more (music videos will be projected on a screen, yes). It’s sort of a big deal.
Welcome back Dance Night 95, welcome back.
Souk Sessions — An Arab Techno Night — Luanda House — 974 Bloor St West
Started this year, Souk Sessions has seen a lot of success bringing Arab Techno music to the city through local and international talent for the best of things to do in Toronto. As described on the Souk Sessions Facebook page, “The Souk…is an open-air market and social gathering, a special occasion when people from all over could dance, drink, party and meet.” Emulating just that, Souk Sessions promotes good vibes and good people as they establish themselves as a premier Arab Techno event in Toronto, hosting their 4th party tonight, October 22nd 2016. Doors open at 10pm, with a $10 cover.
Saddle Up — Classic Country Dance Party
Saddle Up is a new, local country event that’s trying to bring country music and country lovers together in one spot where they can check out classic country hits all night. Currently hosting the event at the Owl’s Club at 847 Dovercourt Rd., SaddleUpTO was recently touted “Toronto’s best country and western dance party!” by shedoesthecity.com. So if line dancing and Dolly Parton fit your fancy, you know what to do. Party starts tonight at 10pm (October 22nd, 2016) with a $5 cover.
So, if you’re looking for the best things to do in the city tonight, or you want to keep your eye on some of the best things to do in Toronto in the future, keep an eye on these recommendations from Hoods Guru.
Until next time,
