On the obverse face of 2019 1 oz Canadian Lucky Dragon High Relief Silver Coins is an image of Queen Elizabeth II. This design is the latest effigy of Her Majesty to feature on Canadian currency and was designed in 2003 by Susanna Blunt. It depicts the Queen in right-profile relief with no crown on her head, the first such design during her reign. This face of the coin has radial lines in the background field.

The reverse side of the 2019 1 oz Canadian Lucky Dragon High Relief Silver Coin bears the Chinese Lucky Dragon image. This design comes from Simon Ng and depicts the Chinese dragon with its body curled in the shape of a letter eight. Both the dragon and the number eight are viewed as lucky in Chinese culture.
