I am sure you know you can bleach away the dark goop and produce a negative you can scan, too?

Yeah, I’ve tried it, and a good friend does it quite a lot. But I was looking for a look that’s a bit different. Doing these scans of intact negs is a way for me to further delay getting down to wet plate collodion work, since it’s a similar concept with somewhat similar results. That’s the kind of thing I’m interested in doing with my 4x5 and old petzval lens. Next I’m trying paper negs (orthochromatic like wet plate), and after that I’ll have run out of things to do and I’ll finally bite the bullet and set up my wet plate stuff.
