Waking up in such a beautiful hostel was such a nice change. Don’t get me wrong some of the other hostels have been great so far (some let’s just not mention) but this one seems like a little slice of paradise. Comfy CLEAN beds, ensuite, fridge, cold water supplied, air con, slippers, towels made into shapes and most of all no bugs… anywhere. Simple pleasures of travelling.

It got better when we went down for our inclusive breakfast down by the lagoon. Beautiful pink and white flowers rise up out of the water surrounded by Lilly pads and sprinklers. The choice of food compared to others just sky rocketed. You get fruit to start then any choice of 6 other breakfasts, including additional fruit shakes or tea/coffees. The choice at other hostels was not so luxurious (spoilllttttt)

After having a massive breakfast of egg noodles, and all the rest, we decided to head out…

Wandering

Today we decided to explore Luang Prabang in the 35 degree scorching sun.

On our trip around this small town we came across many pretty temples with monks reciting songs and literatures.

After exploring along wandering along the Mekong river we decided to hike up the small mountain in the middle of the town called Mount Phou Si. The mountain is only 150 feet tall but gives incredible 360 views Luang Prabang, the Mekong river and the forested mountains surrounding

Chillax (…yeah I said chillax)

Due to heat and general tiredness we decided to spend the rest of afternoon chilling by the lagoon at our hostel. It was so tranquil and relaxing, first day properly chilling.

Traditional Lao folk Story’s

Just before food we decided to attend an evening of folk stories told by an English speaking Lao man. Accompanying the stories was an old gentle playing a Instrument called the Khaen.

The way he told the stories was amazing, gave such enthusiasm and with the music it added a great atmosphere.

I won’t say any of the stories he told in this blog! I can tell you all when I return or can leave it for you to find out for yourself!

Cooking with firrrree

We met an Aussie couple at the story telling and they advised us to go to Lao Lao gardens for food and they did not let us down!

We ordered the meat BBQ, the waiter came out with hot coals and a grill surface for us to place meat to cook. Along the sides was the space for broth, glass noodles, mushrooms, toms, chillis, garlic and a mixture of salad and peanut sauces.

It was fun to cook as well as delicious to eat! Also the place was beautifully decorated and had a great atmosphere. Although hot evening outside with a hot coals…phoar was a bit much!

Bye bye for now x
