Vitamin D and Boogers

Yes, boogers…

Taking vitamin D supplements is like picking a booger out of your nose.

Sure, it can make you feel better for a little while, but it makes you more susceptible to infection.

When you pick a booger, you can irritate the delicate tissues in your nose and introduce harmful microorganisms which can make you more likely to get sick.

When you take vitamin D, it suppresses your immune system so you’ll feel better, but a chronically suppressed immune system is eventually going to open you up to more infections.

Vitamin D supplements deplete vitamin A and magnesium.

Vitamin A is necessary for a healthy immune system and to activate copper which turns oxygen into energy and keeps iron from running amuck in the body causing inflammation and oxidative stress which causes illness.

Magnesium is involved in over 3000 processes in the body so if that is lacking you are going to feel like crap.

So, don’t pick your nose.

And don’t take vitamin D supplements.

There is a better way to keep your immune system functioning optimally. I’ll get to that in another post.

When your doctor tested your vitamin D levels, did they also test RBC magnesium?
