This article will detail how to stake your Horror Ape Club NFTs (HAC) from either Horror Ape Club Collections (3333 or 333), why you would want to stake your Horror Apes, and the rewards and mechanics of the Horror Ape Club Stake-To-Win system.

How to Stake your Horror Ape Club NFTs

The process of staking your Horror Apes is a simple process — First, In order to stake your Horror Ape Club NFTs, you will need to de-list any HAC from secondary marketplaces; NFTs that are listed for sale cannot be staked to earn rewards. Make sure to delist any HAC you have listed on PancakeSwap, NFTkey, Galler, or TOFUnft in order to be eligble to Stake-To-Win, as listed NFTs cannot be eligible for prize pot rewards

Holders can use the designated staking part of our website to connect their wallet via ‘Metamask’ and stake their Horror Ape Club NFTs to earn a daily set amount of ticket rewards per NFT’s staked in the form of BEP-20 tokens called HACT, these tickets can then be used to enter the biweekly Staking Prize Pot Draws that occur every 14 days, or stake longer than 1 staking round period in order to accumulate more tickets for greater odds for a future Staking Prize Pot round; this allows holders of less HAC to increase their odds against holders with a greater amount of HACs staked.

How to Unstake your Horror Apes

You can unstake your Horror Ape Club NFTs at any time from the Horror Ape Club Staking website.

The longer you stake your HAC the more tickets (HACT) you earn which you in-turn can use to enter the biweekly Staker Prize Pots.

Stake to Win

The main reason to stake your Horror Ape Club NFTs is to participate in our biweekly (staking rounds of 14 days)

Every staked HAC gives you a chance to win from the biweekly Staker Prize Pot draw, each Friday. The winning wallet address for the winner each Friday will be announced shortly.

If you don’t win the prize draw, you do not lose your HAC, but you do lose the tickets you enter a round with. Stake Longer to earn more tickets to increase your odds of winning.

Staking Odds

Horror Ape Club holders can stake their HAC to earn tickets in the form of BEP-20 tokens called HACT (Horror Ape Club Tickets), holders can stake their Horror Apes to earn these tickets during drawing periods to earn a set daily rewards of HACT (currently set to 1 HACT per NFT rewarded every 24 hours), holders can decide whether to enter these tickets into the nearest drawing, or continue to stake to accumulate tickets for a greater odds on the next Staking Prize Pot drawing.

Currently, NFT rarity is not a factor in Stake-To-Win odds, this will change in future Staking Mechanism updates this winter.

The more Horror Apes a holder owns, and the longer a holder stakes their HAC to earn tickets, the greater their chances of winning a round when they enter it.

Thanks to Chainlink we can provide our holders with a fun experience that is secure and fully transparent on the blockchain. Chainlinks VRF (Verifiable Random Function) is a provably fair and verifiable random number generator (RNG) that enables smart contracts to access random values without compromising security or usability.

3333 Odds vs. 333 Odds

There are two Horror Ape Club collection contracts, one for the original 3333, and one for Project 333. Both collection contracts have their own separate supply, 3333 or 333 NFTS, and each supply has its own separate staking contract. If you are a holder of Project 333, you will have a greater chance of winning that Staking Prize Pot because with a supply of 333, there is greater odds of a Project 333 holder winning compared to the winning odds of the 3333 Staking Prize Pot.

The rules for both Staking contracts are the same, the only difference is the odds for the players, and the biweekly Staking Prize Pot rewards.

Currently Scheduled Prizes:

Please Note: Besides the currently held Horror Ape Club and Pixelsweeper NFTs held in the ‘Community Vault’, any and all prizes in the Staking Prize Pots are dependent on the funds from the Project 333 minting.

The First Staking round for 3333 will have a special grand Staking Pot Prize of 3.33 BNB + Pixelsweeper NFTs, Horror Ape Club Rare NFTs, and more.

Any future rewards will be re-determined after a certain period of time; Staking rewards consistency is finite and indefinite.

Chainlink VRF x Horror Ape Club

Horror Ape club has followed in the steps of leading projects such as Pixelsweepers and integrated the Chainlink Verifiable Random Function (VRF) (opens new window)on the BNB Chain in order to provide a transparent stake-to-win system for Horror Ape Club holders.

By integrating the industry-leading decentralized oracle network, we have access to a tamper-proof and auditable source of randomness needed to help select the biweekly winners of both the HAC 3333 collection and Project 333 Staker Pot drawings.

Ultimately this creates a more exciting and transparent user experience, as users can independently verify the random selection process from each week’s drawings for high assurances that winners were decided in a provably fair manner.

Every week, Horror Ape Club holders can stake their NFTs to earn Tickets for a chance to win Rewards from the Staking Prize Pot, The NFTs included in the staking rewards pot are either from the Horror Ape Club Community Vault, or Donations from partnership projects.

“For each request, Chainlink VRF generates one or more random values and cryptographic proof of how those values were determined. The proof is published and verified on-chain before any consuming applications can use it. This process ensures that results cannot be tampered with or manipulated by any single entity including oracle operators, miners, users, or smart contract developers.” — Chainlink Team

RNG for Stake-To-Win Lottery & The Chainlink VRF

In order to fairly select the winners for our Staker Prize Pot drawings in a verifiable and transparent way, we needed access to a secure random number generator (RNG) that any user could independently audit.

However, RNG solutions for blockchain smart contracts require several security considerations to prevent manipulation and ensure of no manipulations. Chainlink VRF works by combining block data that is still unknown when the request is made with the oracle node’s pre-committed private key to generate both a random number and a cryptographic proof.

The Horror Ape Club smart contracts will only accept the random number input if it has a valid cryptographic proof, and the cryptographic proof can only be generated if the VRF process is tamper-proof. This provides our users with publicly verifiable assurances directly on-chain to verify that the Stake-To-Win system is provably fair and was is not tampered with by the oracle, outside entities, or the Horror Ape Club team.

About Chainlink

Chainlink is the industry standard for building, accessing, and selling oracle services needed to power hybrid smart contracts on any blockchain. Chainlink oracle networks provide smart contracts with a way to reliably connect to any external API and leverage secure off-chain computations for enabling feature-rich applications. Chainlink currently secures tens of billions of dollars across DeFi, insurance, gaming, and other major industries, and offers global enterprises and leading data providers a universal gateway to all blockchains.
