Estimation of Iran’s internet taxi (Platforms) market share
In the latest market research project conducted in the field of Iranian internet taxis (platforms), the independent market research and consulting IRC Iran examined the market share of each of the players in the Iranian internet taxi market (focusing on the 8 most common and important cities where these companies operate).
According to the results, Snapp has about 87% and Tapsi has about 13% of the internet taxi market share in these 8 cities. I conducted data collection for this research in Tehran, Mashhad, Isfahan, Karaj, Shiraz, Tabriz, Ahvaz, and Rasht between February 21 and March 5.
IRC Iran public relations said the following about the details of this research:
The target group for this research was internet taxi users. We focused on the 8 cities where Snapp and Tapsi are the most active.
We considered people aged 18 to 55, of both genders, who had taken an internet taxi at least once in the past 3 months. We also included a representative sample of people from different income levels and urban areas.
The data got from this research can be cited with a confidence factor of 95%.
Considering that 75% of internet taxi trips are made in these 8 cities and 25% of trips are made in other cities, also considering the extent of the cities where Snapp operates and that it operates in about 200 cities without the presence of its main competitor, Snapp can be estimated to have a market share of between 89 and 90 percent of the internet taxi market in the entire country.
