A big key for playing with Lonzo is the ability to run the court. I don’t believe that, going back to his days at Stanford, any of Brook’s coaches have asked him to fill the lane in transition. If he can outrun his defenders, he will get a lot of easy baskets. In the set offense, Brook’s ability to pick and pop will be much more valuable than having him stand under the rim, where he is a stationary rebounder but doesn’t have the nose for the ball that great rebounders have. His post up game is OK but not great, and he has always been more comfortable shooting while facing the basket. It will be interesting to see how Walton uses his skill set.
