We Tried The TranquilityNET PMS Beta App — We Were Impressed
One of the biggest things rumbling right now in the hospitality industry is the TranquilityNET PMS application. Set to launch in Iceland and then worldwide at some point in 2021, we were excited to give it a try and see what it had to offer.
The hotel we worked with let us know that this is a “very bare and basic edition” of TranquilityNET and isn’t 100% reflective of the official version that is supposedly launching next year. The first thing we were able to navigate was the extensive report list. With over 300 individual reports able to print in daily, weekly or monthly format, we can see this being one of the most important features of TranquilityNET.
We were able to print out a few detailed reports and needless to say, we were impressed. One of the things we weren’t impressed with was the appearance of the beta application. We had hoped it would be a bit more vibrant since this is set to be one of the best PMS applications, but we had to take into consideration that the appearance is set to change when the actual application launches. Thankfully the current appearance is a temporary measure to complete basic functions.
Another impressive piece of TranquilityNET is the extensive housekeeping management. We had the ability to quickly manage rooms and sort them by clean or dirty.
We had a choice of over 40 rooms we could quickly change the status of. Of course, we had to fix everything before we left to avoid any housekeeping discrepancies, but we loved it. Out of all of the other applications we have used at different properties, TranquilityNET had the most seamless process of managing rooms and housekeeping. The only downfall of the housekeeping management that we noticed was the complete lack of actual assignment of housekeepers to rooms although we were told that this feature would be included in an updated beta at some point later this year.
With the click of a simple icon, we can see projected occupancy for the property that shows us up to 3 years into the future. We saw some low percentages for the next few weeks, particularly due to the COVID-19 pandemic, but the amount of travel in the area is expected to bounce back slowly.
Although we only spent an hour or so with TranquilityNET, we were really impressed by how easy it was to use. We noticed a few flaws in several areas although we know this is a very early beta version of the actual program.
Pros:
- Easy to navigate
- Responsive
- Packed with features
Cons:
- Unappealing beta interface
- Some missing alpha features
- Can only use 1 account in the beta application
We look forward to seeing what TranquilityNET delivers in the future. If this beta launch is anything to go by, we’re in for quite a treat next year!
