Stories Of Springs
The morning was shinning like a dew drop on a grass. Lilith was sitting alone on the grass near the big dead tree in her garden. A bird was singing on its branch. It was spring so it might be waiting for its mate to come or for a new mate to make a new life.
“How ironic!”, Lilith thought while watching the eagerness of the bird. “Birth upon the bricks of death! Happiness upon the ashes of sorrows !” her mind further spread its wings.
She and her boyfriend Sam had a huge fight last night. She left his house this morning. Now she is waiting for him to call her.
“Am I like the bird?”, she thought. “Its 13:16 and still he is not calling!”, checking her phone she told herself. “May be he is at work; He will call soon; I should have gone to work too!” , her scattered thoughts flew.
“Hi Lilith!! How are you? Long time no see!” , a very cheerful voice almost shouted.
It was Hanna, Lilith’s childhood friend. She was accompanied by her boyfriend John and they were standing just outside of the garden fence.
“Hey!!” , Lilith also almost shouted back because it will be a cold greeting without that. “How are you?” She looked at John and nodded warmly.
“At last John and Hanna, who would have thought!” Lilith thought. She was thinking about her high school when John proposed her and she rejected because Hanna told that John is so nerd who do not even know how to wear a condom! John was behind her for a long time after that.
He got long hair now. The glasses are gone. “Contact lens may be? Since Hanna is very well known for her fashionable outfits.” , she thought.
Her phone rang. She checked it. It was Sam. She was confused if she should pic it up or hang up. After some ringing it disconnected automatically. She put her phone in silent mode and continued talking with Hanna and John.
The bird on the dead tree was still singing.
