LA is a city full of famous locations- but there is no question that Hollywood is what sets LA apart from pretty much any other city on earth.

Home to some of the world’s largest superstars and celebrities, and the center of the American movie industry, it should come as no surprise that there are some pretty incredible things to do and see in this city- and Universal Studios is the best of the best.

Use your time in the city wisel by booking one of the best boutique hotels North Hollywood has to offer, The Mariposa Hotel. Located less than a 10 minute drive away from Universal Studios, you are in the perfect location to enjoy the theme park.

Here is a quick guide to spending 2 whole days at Universal Studios, and what there is to see and do.

A Theme Park in a Movie Studio Lot

When the park was first opened in the 1960s it was intended to be a working film studio, where you could experience the world of Hollywood first hand. However as popularity grew it became too difficult to run both, and it was turned into a movie experience park.

Studio Tram Tour

One of the major draws of the park is the Studio Tram Tour. This incredible hybrid between ride and tour takes around the old studio lots where many films were actually shot.

There are interactive elements where the tram will get into trouble and adventure, mixed with tours around old sets and movie props.

Rides for All Ages

There are over 20 rides in the park and they cater to all age groups.

Kids love the ‘Minion Mayhem’ area and adults are drawn to things like the ‘Jurassic World’ ride. There are also many motion experiences, where you can become part of the movie and travel through incredible landscapes, interacting with characters and super stars.

Shows and Special Effects

One of the best parts of Universal Studios is the Special Effects Shows. See movie magic in action with your own eyes during these incredible live action shows.

Proper stunts, explosions, fight scenes and interactive elements make these a real crowd pleaser.

Check out the ‘Waterworld’ show. Although the movie was not all that successful, the live show has been running since 1995, so you can imagine it’s pretty incredible to watch!

Where to Eat

If your kids are Harry Potter fans (as most kids are!) then head to the ‘Three broomsticks’ pub for a magical feast. The food is great, and the pub itself is very atmospheric.

You can also check out ‘Krusty Burger’ for a Simpsons themed meal, or maybe ‘Jurassic Burger’ for the carnivores among you.

There are actually nearly 60 restaurants and food options in the park. You can eat pretty much anything you could possibly imagine, so just head out there and look for your perfect meal!

Getting Home for Bed!

Staying in the amazing Mariposa hotel rooms not only means you are super close to the park, but also that you are guaranteed an amazing night’s sleep.

Explore the park, safe in the knowledge that an amazing night’s sleep awaits you, so you can feel refreshed and alive for round 2!
