Opportunities don’t just happen, you create them

Becoming a blogger is a piece of cake, all you have to do is start a blog and just start writing, right? Doesn’t that sound easy? Well, this is true but it doesn’t mean you’re going to be successful.

Unfortunately it’s not as easy as it sounds. Becoming a successful blogger who actually earns a decent living takes a ton of dedication. Would you like to earn a full time wage here on Uptrennd?

Have you ever thought to yourself, what is it going to take to start earning real money blogging? How do some bloggers make several thousand dollars a month?

There are many factors that contribute to becoming a successful blogger but the most important is hard work and passion. There are literally tens of thousands of people who try to earn money blogging but only a few succeed. When I first started blogging on Steemit back in 2016, I failed miserably. It wasn’t until I realized these 4 things when things started to change for me. If you’re serious about becoming a successful blogger it’s going to take dedication, hard work, tons of research and lots of hours.

1. Writing Skills

The most important thing you need as a blogger is writing skills. Your success as a blogger requires you to have at a minimum, a basic understanding in these categories.

  • Spelling
  • Grammar
  • Word usage
  • Citations
  • Format
  • Accuracy

A successful blogger doesn’t necessarily need to be an expert in these categories but the basics are required. So take the time and start researching as much as you can.

Even more importantly is you must remember to write like an individual. You are not writing for a News Paper, a Corporation or Government, you must write like an individual with your own personality in order to connect with your readers. I was guilty of this when I first starting writing on Steemit but after learning this tip, I quickly adapted and went on to create my own blog outside of Steemit.

2. Willingness to learn

If you really want to take your blogging to the next level you must be willing to learn. I’m still learning and I’m sure every successful blogger continues to learn new things no matter how long they’ve been writing.

Are you willing to learn? How much time do you take reading other blogs and taking notes of what you’ve learned? If you’ve made it this far than you are likely one of the few that has what it takes to succeed. reading is an absolute must if you want to learn to be a great blogger.

3.Charismatic Skills

If you are naturally a great communicator than being a charismatic blogger will be easy for you. If not it just takes a little extra effort to get in that frame of mind.

Many new bloggers think that a bloggers work is complete after publishing an article. This of coarse would be a big mistake! It’s critical that you promote your articles as soon as they are published in order to maximize it’s potentially.

A charismatic blogger must engage with their readers and reply to as many comments as possible. Your job is to keep your readers coming back for more! Never publish an article and just walk away. Communication skills are a must for a successful blogger.

4. Dare to be Different

The world we live in is hell bent on conforming us to be like everybody else and it’s up to you to battle through that and be your self. Stop looking around the room at everybody else and thinking “what am I suppose to do”. Being different is what is going to set you apart from the majority of bloggers who fail. I know I really struggled with this for months on Steemit but the only way you’re going to succeed in standing out is to get out of your comfort zone. Trust me, it gets easier in time.

Here’s the truth

If you really want to succeed at being a blogger you must start thinking of your blog as your business. What separates those who fail and those who succeed as a blogger is the determination, hard work, and willingness to succeed not just in writing but in life.
