Design decisions: Junk drawers and dark corners
Jason Fried

You are really looking, staring; which is great. May I suggest you read a little Susan Sontag to dive into even deeper rigor. Amazing how rampant dark corners are. Not being a client of Basecamp, yet, is the color predominantly purple?!? I’d suggest fixing THAT before even mentioning junk drawers. Because if a room is painted in painful color, the dark corner is where I’m going to look to give my eyes some quiet. What this purple does is kill white space dead. And white space doesn’t need to be white, it just needs to be understood.
