The surfing community and the island of Oahu, Hawaii, are mourning the loss of Tamayo Perry, a professional surfer, lifeguard, actor, and stuntman. Perry tragically died following a shark attack on Sunday afternoon while surfing at Malaekahana Beach on Oahu’s North Shore. The shark attack occurred when Perry was in the water enjoying his passion for surfing, which he had pursued for many years. At the age of 49, he was a well-known and respected figure within the local and international surfing communities.
Following the attack, Perry was swiftly brought to shore by a Jet Ski. Despite the rapid response, he was pronounced dead at the scene. This tragic news was confirmed by Shayne Enright, the spokeswoman for the Honolulu Emergency Services Department, during a press conference.
