One man’s trash is another man’s treasure
Do you know what are you’re looking for?

Late in 1979, Steve Jobs visited a research center in Silicon Valley called Xerox Parc.
Xerox Parc was the innovation center of Xerox Corp. During the 70’s, Xerox had the world’s best engineers leading innovation at the time.
If you wanted to see the future, Xerox Parc was the place to be.
Steve was well aware of the opportunity this visit represented. He walked into the facility with a very clear purpose in mind. He was in a mission to develop the best personal computer in the world.
This moment eventually changed the computer industry.
Xerox engineers invented the computer “mouse,” but their focus was to solve other problems related to the Xerox expansion. They ignored the potential Steve saw on their their invention because they were distracted and not looking for it.
Steve had a clear vision.
He had his brain focused on finding any opportunity that would help him achieve his goal.
Steve later said in an interview:
“Within ten minutes, it was obvious to me that all computers would be like this some day.”
What’s the lesson behind Steve’s story?
Our brain can ONLY find what it’s intentionally looking for!
We live in a complex world. Everyone is fighting for our attention. As a result we’re the most distracted generation in history.
Today, attention is the most valuable asset in the world.
I challenge you to ask yourself these questions today:
- Who owns your attention?
- Do you know what you’re looking for?
If we’re moving in life without a defined vision in mind, we have a tremendous disadvantage to win in life.
Why?
If you don't have a clear goal, how are you ever going to get there?
