The key to a successful career
Life Lessons I shared with my mentee in his 20’s

I remember my friend Tom struggling with this question many years ago:
Should I follow a career or my passion?
Many people advised him to follow his passions.
In fact, some told him that following his passion would be the key to a successful career. Yet, many years later, I have found that this advice was very simplistic and even misleading.
I don’t know anyone more passionate about music than my friend Tom, yet, he hasn’t been able to make a decent living doing what he loves. He’s always complaining how much he hates his actual day job that helps him make a living.
Imagine a career in which you can’t believe the amazing privilege of having people pay you to do your job!
That´s the ultimate goal: not only to find your passions, but the sweet spot where your passions and your unique skills meet the market!
Our life passion is just a direction.
The biggest challenge we have to learn during our 20's is to identify our unique strengths and most importantly how the world values them!
Career success is finding a job where your workday is part of the enjoyment of your life — NOT a job where you go to suffer in order to enjoy your life after your workday is over.
