Great, but isn’t this whole essay an admission of impotence. Yes, the English press promotes the viewpoints of the Consevatives and the Right and pushes their Weltanschauung as the only legitimate one. Yes, there is an elite responsible for this that doesn’t represent the views of the majority and yes, oligarchs and billionaires are the main movers and shakers in this. So the obvious outcome is that the consciousness of the masses is conditioned and shaped to show that left-wing agendas are either dangerous and threaten the social order or are the pipings of the inconsequential.
If you are right in this, what’s the use of fighting? The majority either agree with the rubbish or don’t care about it and your journalist opponents obviously want to maintain the life-style they’ve become accustomed to. Social activism is the last thing they would be interested in and their treatment of you, despite all of your achievements, is understandable.
The smell in all of this is power. The elites capacity to use and manipulate it and your call to activism to counter it. In this you are the loser and will always be.
As a disinterested observer it strikes me that you make some controversial assumptions: the legitimacy of the left-wing agenda and the right to act in accordance with it. Who gives you the right to assume that this agenda is legitimate and even if it was, what justifies your right to be an activist about it.
The majority in the UK either don’t agree with you, couldn’t care less or else find it all too hard to do anything about it
The oligarch’s of the elite aren’t afraid of you, they know where you come from, what you are likely to do and can do, where and when you plan to engage in your activism and what the likely outcome of all your concerns would be. They have the influence to pressure the government to cut the funding to bothersome university faculties, think tanks and other organisations that are the cause of all this trouble.
If I can make this suggestion: use all the tools they use, disinformation, misinformation, lies and fake news. You have the internet and social platforms to use for it. Take your example from the Alt-right websites and spread conspiracy theories about the oligarchs and the conservative government. But for God’s sake don’t use the truth. There’s no power in truth. Ask Trump!
