Why Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez belongs in the U.S. Congress
In a nation that skewers Bernie Sanders and Our Revolution for being too utopian and unrealistic, the movement has found a new leader. Unfortunately for the critics, Ocasio-Cortez is as real as it gets.
Unless you have been living under a rock, you know that the most interesting thing in politics (primary or general) right now is the Democratic Primary for New York’s 14th Congressional District for Queens and the Bronx. As a Delaware resident, I was not planning on publicly picking a side in this race. However, in light of recent events, I would be amiss to not give a statement of support for Ocasio-Cortez. Democrat Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez is running a truly progressive campaign with logical positions, has turned down big money, and has showed up for every debate. Her campaign ad is some of the most powerful marketing you will ever see. She is an inspiration, one who belongs in the U.S. House of Representatives.
