Despite the potential benefits of regenerative agriculture, socialist nations with centrally planned economies have generally lagged behind capitalist countries in adopting these practices.

Limited Market Incentives

In capitalist systems, market forces and consumer demand have helped drive the adoption of regenerative agriculture:

Less than 1% of America’s farmland is currently devoted to regenerative agriculture practices

Over 50% of U.S. farmland could potentially be transitioned to regenerative agriculture according to economic feasibility analysis.

About 13% of all U.S. farmland is managed using conservation or regenerative practices

By 2025, it’s estimated that 5% of US land will be driven by consumer demand for regenerative
