Notes from class: Chakra Balancing 101 with Heather Taylor, LMT

We are all vibratory beings. A balanced body is made up of harmonic frequencies and we easily go “out of tune” when we experience any kind of stress; physical, emotional, mental etc…

It is imperative to our health to be aware of our energy field. This energy system or field which compliments our physical body follows certain patterns which we can feel and observe. Kirlian photography can show the field or aura and even illness in the aura before manifesting into the physical body. As Albert Einstein said, “The field is the sole governing agent of the particle”. He’s a smart dude.

Knowing this helps us balance because we start to know ourselves and our patterns better. Since it is not the actual stress that causes disease but our reaction to it, the more we understand our energetic experience the more we can manage what we need to before it manifests in us physically. This is not to say that we don’t need to exercise our immune system and that we will never get sick or have a physical challenges but it will help us deal better and understand further into our own experience.

One way to understand what’s going on in our field is knowing the chakras. The chakras are pumps or valves (literally in Sankrist meaning “wheel” or “vortex”) which open and close. Some see them as flowers opening and closing their petals. The flowers may be more in line with the traditional Chakra practice than pumps or valves since each chakra has traditionally been drawn as a flower with various amounts of petals. Picture and use whichever makes most sense to you.

These chakras feed into our major nerve plexus and endocrine system. The chakras have aligning colors, sounds, psychological elements etc…to them which can all be used to balance our energy. I personally use vibrational therapy tools such as chromotherapy, crystals, and music.

Life is more fluid than we think and we balance a different way most days. Yes, we can get out of balance often and we’re supposed to. It’s not bad. It’s like exercising our muscles, use it or lose is baby (but you can always get it it back!) Open isn’t always good and closed isn’t always good.

This is a short synopsis of the chakras. If you want more in depth look at the chakras please google, there is so much information out there! Choose what speaks to you most and throw away the rest. We don’t want to get too overwhelmed or too analytical about this. Remember it’s all about getting OUT of our head and into our body.

  6. “I am”

This is from the Desiderata and I find it extremely appropriate for the crown chakra, “…whether or not it is clear to you, no doubt the universe is unfolding as it should”.

And it is.

The universe has your back. Trust your self. Know yourself. And at the end of the day, that is enough.

I recommend saying #6 of each one while you chant, picture the colors and/or hold the associated area. This is a very effective way to balance the chakras. Try a 30 day challenge. Do this every morning and see how your days change. In the meantime I will prepare to do another class!

With appreciation,

Heather
