Sorry to be extremely cynical here, but when reading Organization Theory you just can’t help it… No offence, but what a pretentious book that is full of shit.
The whole book makes it seems that an organization is aiming to become better, care about their customers and employees and dying for innovation. Yet the majority (not all but majority of them) of their strategies are just keeping the people they want, maximize the profit for a handful of people, and innovating through screwing someone else…
Here is a quote from the book:
“Many companies employ psychologists and consultants who specialize in helping employees to handle the stress and uncertainty of being laid off and having to find new jobs.”
To be honest, a decent layoff package would’ve been thousands times better than some psychiatrist… When people are laid off the last thing they need is some person pretends to care about them and charge them for it…
