Don’t choose, Do

I figure that the easiest thing to do today is something you simply have to get done today.

I shower every day (honestly), a tedious multipart ritual, but this somehow inconveniences me less than taking out the trash, despite the latter being quicker and less frequent.

I don’t frame basic personal hygiene as a choice, so it’s not onerous because there’s no need for it to be, procrastinating is not an option either way. On the other hand, taking out the trash has some nuance and flexibility about its specific scheduling, which provides ample room for laziness to provide unwanted input on that timing.

So, my goal for the near future is to define my day in terms of what must get done, and stay true to these key points. Consistency can be more important than raw output, especially in the beginning.
