The Forrest Four-Cast: November 23, 2018

Many voters in the recent midterm elections named health care as their most important issue. While the complex industry has been altered and patched up over recent years, there remains a need and a desire for more long-term and fundamental systematic change.

Janis Powers, the founder of Longitudinal Health Care, has many good ideas on how to begin. In her recently-published book, “Health Care: Meet the American Dream,” she offers an ambitious proposal to redesign the American health care system using the principles of the American Dream: personal accountability, goal setting and community support, directing individuals that it is their civic responsibility to be healthy. Calling for fresh innovation and bold ideas, including elevating the role of preventative care and creating a more market-based economy, Powers, a health care strategy and operations consultant, will discuss her book at BookPeople (603 North Lamar Blvd) at 7:00 pm on Wednesday, November. 28.

This November 28 event at BookPeople is co-sponsored by SXSW. All attendees will be eligible to win a FREE badge for March 2019.

Enjoy five days of compelling content about better health care systems from March 8–12 at SXSW. Finally, if you like the printed word, then you will love the Book Reading program. Click here to see some of the newly-published authors who are confirmed for next spring.
