No festival can be successful without its fans that’s why managing your Fanbase can’t be ignored. A Fanbase is a group of people that for example admires the same kind of music, festivals or has the same expectations of a festival. You can grow the size of your Fanbase if you manage it properly. Fanbase insights for example e help you to create brand awareness. It also helps you to understand your fans, to know what they like, to build relationships and foster loyalty. However, managing a Fanbase can be a tricky task, so that is why we have some tips for you on how to manage your subscriber list (your Fanbase) while using Hugo.

1. Import your data

To start managing Fanbase, you first of all need to import data that you want to work

with. Thus, you need to import your subscriber list. The subscriber data can be only uploaded as a CSV file. To upload the data, go to the “Data Management” section and select “Data Upload”. After the data has been uploaded you can start creating Fanbase groups.

2. Creating the “Fanbase groups”

To creata a Fanbase group fo to the “Data Management” to see your uploaded data. To create the Fanbase groups from there you can filter this data as you want by selecting a label, or by filtering on variables like gender, country or something else. Select the people in the applicable column to be added to your Fanbase group.

Other examples of filtering are; you can filter your fans in order to see everybody who went to your event for the last 2 editions, all males and females, or everybody who bought an early bird ticket.

Good to know is that duplicate email addresses are automatically removed when adding people to a Fanbase group. This means that if somebody was already in there, he or she will never be added a second time.

Furthermore, here is no limit to a Fanbase group, you can keep on adding new subscribers as much as you want!

3. Keep an overview of fans and fanbase groups

Keeping a good overview of all your fans in different fanbase groups is a crucial part of your email marketing strategy. If you have a lot of groups, and you’ve paid a lot of attention to segmenting people based on preferences or other variables, it means you’re able to send them relevant content and by that: hit your targets faster.

Next to that with the segmenting efforts, you are able to differentiate the active, from the inactive users. Because of this differentiation, you are enabled to apply focus: the active ones can be addressed to build a loyal customer relationship and the inactive ones can receive different content to reactive the relationship (again).

The best way to ensure your database is crystal clear, is to regularly check it and to keep on segmenting from there on out. The more relevant your content is, the better you can reach your goals.

Conclusion

Fanbase groups allow you to keep on building customer awareness and continue your precious customer relationships. Fanbase groups help you to keep the overview and to keep track of your customers interests and needs. You’ll be enabled to better know what they like, which is a lifesaver to keep sending the right content: targeting people has never been easier.
