It seems like the amount of boilerplate config is reduced and the syntax is different.

AVA runs tests in parallel (runs faster).

The diff given when an assertion fails is more precise (it will tell you which part of the string is different for example).

The default reporter is good.

It runs ES6 by default.

That’s pretty much it: sane defaults for modern and future JavaScript development.
