Yes, you read that right — Picasso Lin, the name that echoes creativity and boldness. But let’s rewind a bit. It all began two years ago at a networking event, where our paths first crossed amidst a sea of handshakes and business cards. We did not catch up once after that, we became tiktok “friends”. And little did I know, this chance encounter would lead to one of the most intriguing stories to grace the stage of my show. So, grab your popcorn and settle in as we delve into the remarkable journey of Picasso Lin — a tale that promises to inspire, entertain, and perhaps even leave you questioning the power of fate.
Picasso’s messages to me on 14 Mar 2024:
“The title ‘Courage and Passion’ resonates deeply within me. Without passion, I wouldn’t muster the courage to delve into this endeavor.”
“People may summon courage for various endeavors, yet without the driving force of passion, they often falter, ultimately leading to loss or abandonment.”
Passion and courage are the twin engines that fueled Picasso’s journey through life. Even during his secondary school years, his artistic fervor burned bright as he explored various mediums like lino, batik, and ceramics. It was a testament to his courage to venture into uncharted artistic territories, each stroke of creativity echoing his deep-seated passion for the arts.
Yet, it wasn’t just in the realm of art where Picasso displayed his courage. As a secondary school prefect, he boldly led his peers and teachers in reciting the Singapore Pledge, a moment that showcased his willingness to step up and inspire others.
Transitioning to polytechnic, Picasso’s quest for self-expression led him to explore diverse extracurricular activities. Despite initially feeling out of place in the debating club, he persevered, eventually finding his niche in the Rotaract club. Here, his natural penchant for organization and planning flourished, propelling him into the role of Deputy Community Service Director.
Throughout his life, Picasso found solace and strength in his family, friends, and supportive environment. During the challenges of National Service, it was his wife, Kathy, who became his rock, offering unwavering support and understanding, enabling him to face each day with renewed resolve.
In 2011, a chance encounter with someone who interpreted his birth date sparked a newfound passion for numerology. Determined to share this gift with others, Picasso embarked on a mission to become a life mentor, using numbers as a guiding light for personal transformation.
The birth of their first son in 2012 further ignited Picasso’s desire to understand human potential. Attending lessons on children’s profiling, he sought to equip himself with the knowledge to shape his child’s educational journey and future success.
Graduating from Rotaract in 2014, Picasso seamlessly transitioned into Rotary in 2015, assuming various leadership roles that mirrored his earlier experiences. Leading community service projects became second nature, a testament to his enduring commitment to making a positive impact on society.
By 2022, Picasso embarked on a new chapter, penning his first book on the profound significance of numbers. Through his writings, he aimed to empower others to uncover the hidden meanings behind their lives, embracing the belief that destiny is not set in stone but can be shaped through self-awareness and personal growth.
