Challenging Learning Experience
well, after completing my degree i was at home, bored and looking for something engaging to occupy myself. My friend recommended me to apply to Andela. The passion that he talked about that place was inspiring and he kept commenting on how the pay was good. I thought that this was a chance to do something and also earn some cash at the same time.
I got to find out that i actually had limited knowledge on what was expected of me from the Andela fellows.I have to admit, filling the personality test, i thought that everything would be a breeze from there on wards.Well i guess you could say i was disappointed. The Andela recruitment is one of the most rigorous exercises i have ever encountered. From day one, you get to learn a new programming Language on your own, sweat your brains out, do more research, ask experienced personnel, exchange ideas all for that goal to learn what is necesary to move ahead.
Truly, sacrifices had to be made e.g sleeping late (PS i do love sleep),costs had to be taken and new relationships had to be made (i mean stack overflow) in order to reach as far as i have. The road has been challenging but i have learnt a lot in the short period especially on owning my own work. All in all when you stop learning you stop growing
I am hoping from the bottom of my heart to become an Andela Fellow.
