Real time Interaction with the HR Manager

As a part of Amal Academy Fellowship activity, we had a real-time interaction with Mr. Nafees Taimoor, HR Manager at Lahore Waste Management Company. The fellows from Batch-76 Circle-3, Muhammad Burhan, Hammad Ur Rehman, Hassaan Mansoor, Hammad Imtiaz, Mohsin Hamza and Huma Naseer, had an amazing learning experience which we tried to jot down in a short Q&A series.
- How was the experience of meeting Mr. Nafees at the HR Department of LWMC?
It was a great learning opportunity as we could relate almost all the things told by Ass. HR Manager to the online course in AMAL Fellowship. I was pleased to get the same points from the recruiter because I thought that these points or PASSENGER series is followed only in developed countries but I was wrong.
2. What is the one learning from the meeting that you would like to share with fellows?
One new thing which I got to know from this activity is the Psychometric Test conducted by the recruiters. This test is a written test in which different questions are asked to check the psychology of the interviewee. So, Mr. Nafees advised us to show the real picture in CV or resume. If you do not do so, they may judge you on the basis of the Psychometric test.
3. How helpful was this activity?
The meeting was of great help as Mr. Nafees suggested us to take mock interviews before going into the real ones. Stand in front of a mirror and ask the most common interview questions to yourself. Try answering those questions verbally and check your body gestures. He also told us to research the organization and person with whom you are going to have the interview. Manage your tone according to the interviewer’s tone.
4. What was one thing you find different in the HR person’s opinion of interviews?
I think a little change because of one thing he mentioned. He said that the interviewer is sitting as the opponent and he asks questions to confuse you and evaluate on the basis of your smartness to handle such questions.
5. Any final takeaways?
Amal online courses are very helpful because they quite accurately resonate with the market demands. The activity caused an increase urge to be the #lifelonglearner and make the Amal team proud!
