Humane Tech Workshop on 8/25
On June 30th, Humane Tech SF hosted its second meeting in Portola Valley. The topic of the event was “how can we make technology more humane?”
Several ideas were suggested at the meet-up, including a workshop for people creating projects related to humane tech. Many attendees were particularly excited about this concept.
In response to this interest, we have decided to host a workshop for humane tech project creators and people who want to learn about these projects. The workshop will be held on August 25th from 1pm to 4pm at App Academy in San Francisco.
Details about the workshop:
Participants can sign up as project creators (people working on humane tech projects) or reviewers (everyone else). We can host up to 5 projects.
Attendees will socialize/network for the first half hour of the event. At 1:30pm, we’ll sort the reviewers into 5 equally-sized review groups. Each review group will be assigned to a different project. Groups will give feedback to creators for 30 minutes before rotating onto new projects. We’ll repeat this process 5 times until 4pm.
There are 2 ways to sign up as a reviewer:
- Email your full name to will@humanetechsf.com by August 24th so we can add you to the guest list
- RSVP on the workshop’s Facebook event page by August 24th
To sign up as a creator:
- Send an email to will@humanetechsf.com describing your project by August 22nd
- You aren’t required to provide anything at the workshop, but you can bring materials that showcase your project if you’d like
- Note that “humane tech projects” aren’t limited to tech products: art installations, blogs, films, sociological studies, etc. are all welcome
We are looking forward to the inaugural workshop and hope to see you there!
