The Dean of FKG Umsida, drg Lila Muntandir SpOrt, said in her speech that nothing is coincidental in this world, everything has a destiny.

“Let us welcome this activity with gratitude and joy. Whatever we do now, as far as we remember and are always reminded that this is lillahi ta’ala. In any condition if we rely on lillahi ta’ala, everything will feel light,” she said.

This moment, she continued, is the beginning of the FKG Umsida pilot project which more developed in the future.

According to him, students should not stop in the middle of the road. This means that they must be able to complete their responsibilities as students until they can truly serve the community.

“Don’t be discouraged, we must be united and show that FKG Umsida is qualified, has character, and has achievements,” he said in front of 23 FKG Umsida new students.

In this activity, Vice Chancellor 3 Umsida, Dr. Nurdyansyah MPd was present to provide some motivation to FKG new students.

FKG Umsida new students must be more technology literate

In his presentation, he explained that students must be able to follow and use technology. Moreover, currently there are many AI tools that have emerged.

“Many technological developments are already visible, such as IoT, ChatGPT, VR, and others. If you are not technology literate, then you cannot survive,” he said.

Likewise in the world of dentistry, students must be able to use technology to create innovations in the world of dental health.

“You must be smarter than the lecturers who are teaching you now. You will grow and develop with extraordinary technology,” said Dr. Nur.

In addition, FKG Umsida new students must also be able to build a team to develop together. According to him, it is no longer the era for young people to work alone, but rather to unite and collaborate.

“For example, those of you who have mastered the theory of teeth. When you make innovations, of course you need other people who are experts in their fields so that your innovation can be felt by many people,” he said.

Notes on future education

With that, added Dr. Nur, there are several things to note for the younger generation, especially students.

“First, we must be able to maintain and ensure that the next generation can run fast in terms of innovation. Second, students must be able to master the environment with sharp analysis in various cases, such as poverty, suffering, injustice, and others, ”.

Dr. Nur advised students to mingle more often with the environment and be sensitive to them. That way, they can be aware of something that needs to be fixed or developed again.

From this sensitivity, students are able to observe and bring Indonesian society with happiness and prosperity.

“Education is not just about being smart and knowledgeable, but also having a balanced heart and brain or what is commonly called the Ulul Albab concept, which is thinking well with a clear heart,” he said.

To achieve what they want, the FAI lecturer told students that they must be able to formulate strategies and goals according to what has been planned and accompanied by self-reflection.

He closed the motivation by saying, “Don’t be afraid to step forward. Because right and wrong are just mindsets. Likewise with what Allah has said that our thoughts are the same as needles placed in the ocean, which are only visible a few drops, but many other drops cannot be obtained because we are limited, “.

After the welcoming and motivational session, the FKG Umsida new students were invited to tour the campus and the available laboratories.
