This event aims to provide information and knowledge regarding various important aspects of marriage and family health.

Catin must have a family plan

The catin are given an understanding of stunting, its long-term impacts, and preventive measures that can be taken to ensure optimal growth of children.

This socialization also introduced the ELSIMIL application, a digital tool that can help catin in planning a family and maintaining reproductive health.

Information about the risks of early marriage and its impact on the physical and mental health of catin, as well as the importance of thorough preparation before marriage. In addition, participants were introduced to acupressure techniques that can help manage stress and minor health problems, as well as improve overall well-being.

Stunting is one of the indicators of growth and development failure in children under five years of age (Toddlers) caused by chronic nutritional deficiencies and repeated infections, especially in the First 1,000 Days of Life (HPK).

This period is the same as the age from the fetus to the age of 23 months. Therefore, various programs are carried out by the KKN-BKKBN 3 team to improve the problem of stunting, one of which is socialization for the Prospective Bride and Groom (Catin) group.

There are two causes of stunting that prospective brides and grooms must know, namely specific causes (direct causes) and sensitive causes (indirect causes). Socialization regarding early marriage is a sensitive intervention effort by the KKN team to reduce stunting.

The higher the prevalence of early marriage in a district, the higher the prevalence of stunting. Younger mothers are at greater risk of having children at a younger age and having more children at a young age.

Therefore, increasing the age of first marriage is a very important action to end early marriage so that stunting does not increase.

This event took place with high enthusiasm from the participants, which showed their commitment to living a healthy and happy family life.

“I really appreciate the efforts of Umsida KKN students in providing counseling on early marriage and preventing stunting because access to this information is very limited in this village,” said Johan, one of the participants in the socialization.
