NoDev NoOps NoIT — Publishing 8 August

Firstly an apology to regular readers. I have been extremely busy setting up BIOMEX Limited and learning to design and build distributed applications with Ethereum. On that note I’m am now a huge fan of Distributed Ledger Technology and Smart Contracts so expect some blog posts on DLT shortly.
The other distraction from blogging has been my book which is now scheduled for publication on the 8th August and is available for pre-order on Amazon in Kindle and Paperback formats. The book brings together much of my previous articles, white papers and other publications to present (what I hope is) a coherent set of well defined principles and assertions that inform IT decision making. I have also updated all prior work with feedback provided by the many people with whom I have discussed the principles and assertions.
Whether you are a developer working in a start-up or the CIO/CTO of a global multinational, “NoDev NoOps NoIT,” will equip the reader with a set of guiding principles that will inform the decisions they must make when considering how to evaluate, deploy and utilise technology to maximise the generation of value for their customers, employees and stakeholders. Hussein Badakhchani brings to bear a lifetime’s experience of working with information technology to distil a set of timeless principles which will arm decision makers with the cognitive weaponry they will need in order to thrive in the most competitive markets by cutting through the subjective politics that permeates IT decision making. Unlike the multitude of myopic IT literature that relentlessly focus on reselling contemporary ideas “NoDev NoOps NoIT,” identifies the long maturing historical trends in IT and draws conclusions from their logical progression. At points polemic in tone the author does not make any concessions when expressing the ideas, methods and practices that have proven to their worth in some of the most aggressive and uncompromising commercial environments imaginable. The principles espoused in this work and the assertions they make comprise an ideological corpus however, another distinguishing feature of this work is its emphasis on praxeology and as such, “NoDev NoOps NoIT” promotes actionable tactics and strategies to implement decisions once they have been made. Ultimately this terse book offers succinct and incisive advice to IT decision makers of all persuasions. You may not agree with wisdom expressed in this work but the chances are your competitors will. Ignore “NoDev NoOps NoIT,” at your own peril.
I have tried my best to keep the book as short as possible and I think I have broadly succeeded in doing so. Amazon believes the book can be read in 90 minutes which is a little disconcerting considering it is the culmination of a lifetime’s experience of IT.

Anyway, I tried to have fun with the book and I hope readers will be in some small measure amused even if they completely disagree with the content. I leave you with the official description:
Enjoy!
