The (failed) Economics of Android Security

This is just depressing and really bad Product Management. Handset makers that doesn’t care about their users. Google that doesn’t care about the phone manufacturers that build their app store business. Revenue sharing and license requirements that force manufacturers to push security updates.

This is the cost of being “cheaper than an iPhone but with the same features”. The price must cover the whole product life cycle, not only manufacturing, logistics and sales costs.
