Background
The webtoon market has grown steadily in modern society and has a huge value now.
The global webtoon market size is worth $5.5 billion and the derivative market size is worth $77 billion, more than 10 times of it.
In this global market, Korean webtoon have high stature.
In particular, Naver webtoon has more than 80 million users worldwide and various webtoon platforms such as Picoma and Comico are gaining huge popularity all over the world, including Japan and Europe.
However, the Korean webtoon market structure has two key problems.
The problems are that some platforms monopolize the market and the protection of the rights of writers is not being properly protected.
Currently, top platforms have monopoly on the webtoon market. Writers cannot easily demand their rights and have no choice but to comply with one-sided demands of giant platforms.
The birth of Hypercomic
Hypercomic aims to eliminate monopolies by introducing blockchain technology to solve these problems in the webtoon industry and establish a decentralized webtoon platform where both writers and readers can get benefits.
So, let’s learn about Funding — Reward System, one of the main services of Hypercomic.

Writers — Get funding(donation) for activities(contents production).
Readers — Invest in content with a high probability of success to get rewards.

1. Writers upload content summary and information about the desired funding amount to the platform.
(EX : Writers upload the summary of “A” webtoon and write funding amount “20 million won” to the platform.)
2. Readers invest in content with a high probability of success among the uploaded content.
(Invest with Hypercomic token, which is an ecosystem token)
3. Once the funding target amount has reached, serialization of the content will begin.
Reward
The more attention content receives, the more rewards the readers and Hypercomic NFT holders get.
They can also get rewards through various mining methods and token staking.
We will build a Funding — Reward System by introducing various content such as dramas, movies, and music as well as webtoon into the platform and expand the ecosystem.
