1 Disaster 700 Deaths 2,000,000 Victims 0 Punishment in South Korea

700 people died? really? in S.Korea? not in N.Korea?

Unfortunately, it’s true. It shows the level of South Korea government’s ability to deal with the disaster.

Yes! Its level is 0(zero)! South Korean government was newbie in coping with disasters. It showed its incompetence in Sewol-ferry disaster.

It was the worst disaster ever since 21st century in East Asia. Approximately, according to Asian Citizen’s Center for Environment and Health, the number of victims are calculated from 300,000 to 2,000,000.

During this disaster, citizen discovered incompetent government, greedy corporations, selfish Parliament

Tell me about the detail

6 people died mysterious disease in lungs without any reasons in May, 2011. No cure was useful, no reason was discovered.

After the scrutiny, the government acknowledged that lots of people died from the same disease. Victims who showed similar symptoms also died in 2002, 2006.

Who killed?

The killer was humidifier disinfectant. The host was the British company Reckitt Benckiser. 옥시싹싹, which was for sanitizing humidifier and sold from Oxy Reckitt Benckiser, cracked victims’ lungs. It poisoned them to death.

Actually, the product was designed for only using in factories. But, the company changed its objective and sold to the public without notifying the government. It was possible because the government didn’t regulate, watch the procedure. Yes. The government disobeyed its rule to watch the market.

Did Oxy Reckitt Benckiser know the disaster? Didn’t the government punish them? Were they chillin’ on the couch?

Hey…. if they had worked appropriately, the problems would have been solved already.

Oxy Reckitt Benckiser argued they didn’t know the problem but it proved to be wrong. According to the source inside the company, they knew it! Their researcher reported that their product contained some dangerous elements and it could harm young or old people whose immune system is weak.

But, the chief ignored it.

The government ignored the disaster. Victims asked the government to investigate the company or the disaster. However, Korean government was too lazy to ban the product in the market.

Moreover, the Ministries, which were related to the disaster, avoided being responsible for the disasters. Some officials argued that Ministry of Environment was responsible for the disaster because it is environmental issue.

Some argued that Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy was responsible because the product was commodity.

Another argued that Ministry of Health and Welfare should be responsible because it is health problem.

Lots of officials were eager to judge who were responsible for the problem. But no one confirmed it was their own problem.

Okay… still going on?

Even though the chief of Oxy Reckitt Benckiser apologized for the victims in front of lots of cameras, he said “I didn’t know, I just followed the order”, “We didn’t know the warning about the hazardous element because we didn’t know korean” in the interrogation with the prosecutor.

Lots of people petitioned the government to induce punitive damages system to punish Oxy Reckitt Benckiser.

Time to skimm?

Lazy government, Greedy corporation are CRIMINALS.

The reason why we pay taxes to the government is to give the right to do something we can’t do.

We can’t watch what the company sell, how dangerous it is. Only the government can do that. Only the government can punish the criminal, protect the victim. If it didn’t work well, it would be the accomplice, too.
