Shenzhen is located in the south of Guangdong Province. It is a coastal city that neighbors Hong Kong to the south, Huizhou and Dongguan to the north, Pearl River Estuary to the west, and Dapeng and Daya Bay to the east.

This coastal city is just 25 miles (41 km) away from Hong Kong. Shenzhen is an international and modern metropolis for over four decades thanks to the superior location and the opening-up policy of China that promote trade, business, tourism, and quality of life.

Today, it is known as “China’s Silicon Valley” because it has over fourteen thousand IT companies including world-renowned Lenovo and Huawei. Shenzhen is also becoming an innovation hub for businesses and entrepreneurs — making the city one of the most innovative and competitive in China.

The city does not have many historical attractions as compared to other cities in the country. However, when you visit this city, you will find many beautiful theme parks, which show Chinese culture plus the availability of modern infrastructure that amuses the tourists coming from all around the world.

Also, people wanting to make their stay more luxurious and full of entertainment, tourism experts recommend them to visit “Happy Valley,” which is located on the scenic coastline of the city.

Some of the best city attractions are Meridian View Center, Xiaomeisha Beach, Dameisha Beach, Universidad Sports Center, Xili Lake Holiday Resort, Xiaomeisha Sea World, Shenzhen Safari Park, and Overseas Chinese Town East.

Shenzhen is booming in terms of economic development and thanks to the modern facilities and amenities, anyone can get there comfortably and quickly by plane, train, and/or ship. It is the only Chinese city providing three different transportation modes for simultaneous comings and goings.

While this city has overcome a wide range of obstacles due to its large population, Shenzhen is benefiting largely from the increased diversity. There are people from all over China working in this city — bringing with them the versatility of mainland China — including the local traditions, cultures, and cuisines.

Moreover, a highly developed transportation network, which covers the skies, seas, and lands as well as loads of attractions for tourists, beach resorts, and busiest ports in the world, Shenzhen is the best city for foreigners to invest in any business.

Shenzhen has the best nightlife with many local and foreign hotels, restaurants, and bars. It is also one of the best cities in China for shopping where you will find everything at the most competitive prices. So, cheap shopping malls and complexes with many foreign brands are what attracts tourists from all over the world.

Just five decades ago, this city was just a simple town for fishing. You will be amazed to know that it is now the seventh-largest city in China. It is the primary getaway town for many foreign travelers.

Lastly, we won’t be wrong if we say it is a boomtown in the Guangdong province of China — as it the most appealing city for locals and foreigners surpassing Shanghai, Guangzhou, and Beijing.
