First of all men and women process emotions differently and this affects also their ability to express them, in your article it seems like you assume that is not the case.

Secondly I believe this behavior is the consequence of being taught growing up that normal masculine feelings aren’t all that normal and need to be managed. Your exemple makes it even more clear, which one is masculine and which one isn’t: “I find you very hot” or “You are very hot”? The second isn’t a form of toxic masculinity, there is very little of masculine in it.
