Follow-up to “What colors should your Accreditation pass be?” story

Since we posted a blog about colors for accreditation pass, people have been asking: could color blindness matter be helped by printing a pattern on the red/blue/green color section of the pass?

What needs to be kept in mind is the pressure that a gate attendant is under to quickly distinguish access permissions when doing a visual check. Also that security personnel may be looking at passes on CCTV or through binoculars.

The important thing is to keep the access zones and Categories as clear and as easily distinguishable as possible. So a pattern may work depending on the design of the pass but keeping it simple is the key.
